AromaPlan changes lives through social initiatives in Cape Verde and Nigeria

AromaPlan, a prominent name in the ambient scenting industry, excels not only in crafting exceptional fragrances but also in creating a lasting change for vulnerable communities around the globe. Under the guidance of co-founders Renato Mattos and Fernando Mattos, the company seamlessly integrates business success with a meaningful social mission. It partners closely with Mercy for the Nations, a ministry led by missionary Gesuá Moreira.

In December 2023, AromaPlan garnered attention by donating a container filled with food, milk, and essential supplies to Santiago Island in Cape Verde. "AromaPlan’s contributions change lives," said Gesuá. "Children born without opportunities, families struggling in homes made of metal sheets and cardboard... Through divine guidance and this company’s generosity, many lives are being blessed." The container’s arrival brought a brighter Christmas to thousands of families and launched a partnership that has since expanded into numerous impactful initiatives.

Life-Changing Projects in Africa

One of the most notable efforts is the drilling of water wells in Nigeria. In a northern Nigerian community, AromaPlan’s support has provided access to clean drinking water, significantly improving the quality of life for thousands. "When the drilling began, emotions ran high," Gesuá shared. "A local pastor, overwhelmed with gratitude, tearfully shared how God had inspired Renato Mattos to respond to the community’s prayers." The results were profound: after the well’s dedication ceremony, 25 people decided to embrace faith during a heartfelt thanksgiving service.

AromaPlan also champions innovative programs such as the Cornmeal Project and the Baby Project, both based in Cape Verde. The Cornmeal Project combats malnutrition by supplying affordable, nutritious food to mothers and their infants, while the Baby Project provides new clothes for newborns who might otherwise leave hospitals wrapped in scraps of fabric.

The company’s broader contributions include funding medical and dental care, distributing basic necessities like eyeglasses and food baskets, and offering other essential services that alleviate immediate hardships.

Vision for the Future

Looking toward 2025, AromaPlan aims to build an orphanage in Cape Verde. "Our goal is to give orphan children a safe and nurturing environment where they can sleep, eat, and enjoy a normal childhood," explained Gesuá. This project emphasizes the company’s commitment to not only addressing urgent needs but also creating opportunities for long-term stability and hope.

“This story shows how businesses can align with higher purposes,” said Renato Mattos. “Our partnership with the ministry reflects Christian values and demonstrates the transformative power of generosity. By combining tangible acts of love with empathy, we’re delivering not only enchanting fragrances but also hope and dignity to those who need it most.”

As AromaPlan looks to the future, it remains committed to expanding its impact. The company continues to inspire by demonstrating how collaboration can bring clean water, nourishing meals, and renewed hope to communities previously defined by despair.
